I’m Kelly Perry, and I proudly serve as the Accounting Manager for the Operations Accounting Group at Swinerton, with a tenure of 15 years!

A Journey of Unexpected Passion

My journey at Swinerton began unexpectedly in 2008 when I took a two-week temp assignment. Little did I know those two weeks would become a fulfilling career spanning over a decade and a half. Starting from answering phones, I swiftly transitioned into the role of a project accountant, officially joining the Swinerton family in 2009. Over the years, I climbed from Senior Project Accountant to Accounting Manager in 2021, discovering an unexpected love for the construction industry.

Leading with Purpose: Role and Responsibilities

As Accounting Manager, I lead a dedicated team of 22 professionals responsible for project setup and accounting across approximately 1900 open projects. Beyond managing internal operations, I actively engage in external owner audits, collaborate with finance teams, and support project teams on special initiatives. My primary focus remains elevating our operations accounting team to the gold standard, fostering a culture of excellence, accuracy, and efficiency.

Navigating Challenges, Celebrating Achievements

One of the most significant challenges I encountered was during the sale of an affiliate company. Amidst my recent promotion to Accounting Manager and the post-pandemic return to full-time office work, navigating this complex transaction tested my leadership abilities. Despite the daunting workload and uncertainties, our collective efforts paid off. The sale’s successful completion highlighted our resilience and reinforced the power of collaboration and teamwork within Swinerton.
