I’m Lonni Grattan, and I’ve been on an incredible journey with Swinerton for the past 7.5 years. 

Role and Responsibilities:

As the East Coast Regional Marketing Director, my primary focus is supporting work procurement. Leading a dynamic Marketing & Communications team, we strategize, coordinate, and ensure brand adherence to deliver excellence to our clients. Collaborating with leadership teams across divisions, I play a pivotal role in driving success and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Challenges and Triumphs:

Navigating the uncharted waters of opening new offices presented its set of challenges. However, each hurdle served as a learning opportunity, enriching my experience and equipping me with invaluable insights into market expansion and community engagement. One particular achievement that fills me with pride is the evolution of the Spacecraft program in Charlotte. What started as a conversation over coffee blossomed into one of the East Coast’s most successful programs, underscoring the power of relationship-building and collaboration.

Advice for Aspiring Professionals:

In a male-dominated industry like construction, perseverance, and excellence are your greatest allies. By delivering exceptional results, irrespective of gender, you can carve out your path to success. Embrace challenges, push boundaries, and leave no room for doubt or regret.

Personal Touch:

I love the continual challenge of working at Swinerton. I would never enjoy an easy job, and I feel I can continue to grow professionally, no matter what level. I was initially drawn to Swinerton because of the culture, and it has been so cool to help build the local culture and, in turn, hear how much that means to the team we now have in place. 

With two 11-year-olds, it feels like my interests are their interests. I am an avid reader and book nerd; I love historical fiction and read about two books a week! As long as my body can keep up, I love being active, challenging myself physically, traveling, and being outdoors.
